A considered villa, built for living well in Pererenan

Villa Samalas occupies a generous 300 square metres along Jl. Sempol, one of Pererenan's quieter lanes. The architecture draws from contemporary tropical design: wide open volumes that allow the garden air to move through the living spaces, clean lines interrupted only by the warm tones of local stone and timber detailing. Every room benefits from room-darkening shades, dedicated air conditioning, and that quality of quiet that is increasingly rare in Bali's most-visited corridors.

The R Villas Bali

Pererenan itself sits at an interesting moment. Once the overlooked neighbour of Canggu, it has matured into a neighbourhood with genuine character — a working village rhythm at its edges, international-quality cafes and studios on its main roads, and a black-sand beach with reliable surf within easy reach. Villa Samalas sits squarely in this balance, close enough to everything to make logistics effortless, far enough from the main drag for the mornings to feel genuinely calm.

The villa is managed by Elevate Villas Bali, whose team oversees daily operations, linen service, and guest support throughout every stay. The property comes fully equipped for extended living: a kitchen stocked with a stove, blender, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, full-size fridge and freezer, and a wine glass collection ready for the evening. Outdoor seating frames the private pool and garden, making the boundary between indoors and outside pleasantly blurred. A sound system, dedicated safe box, and laptop-friendly setup acknowledge that some guests work as well as rest.

Check-in is available from 15:00 and check-out is by 10:00. The villa accommodates up to 8 guests, with a private entrance and free on-premises parking. All stays are subject to the property's house rules, which prioritise the comfort of guests and neighbours alike.

How a day at Villa Samalas tends to unfold

You arrive through the private entrance on Jl. Sempol and the shift is immediate. The garden is already doing its work: frangipani, filtered afternoon light, the sound of the pool. Your bags go down, the air conditioning comes on, and the villa opens itself up to you — long corridors, high ceilings, surfaces that feel properly thought through.

Mornings at Samalas start in the kitchen. Someone makes coffee while someone else opens the garden doors. The coffee maker handles the ritual while the blender takes care of whatever fruit came back from the nearby market the evening before. The dining table seats the whole group, and there is no rush — check-out is not until 10:00, but the morning light before that is unhurried and worth inhabiting.

By mid-morning the pool is the right choice. The garden wraps around it with enough greenery to make the space feel private, and the outdoor seating area transitions naturally between sunbathing and shade. Pererenan Beach is close enough for a late-morning surf session, the kind where you return salt-washed and ready for a long lunch.

Afternoons slow down. The room-darkening shades earn their place. The sound system takes a playlist. Wine glasses come out earlier than intended. The safe box holds the passports. The villa holds everything else.

By evening, the garden lights come on and the outdoor seating fills up. The kitchen handles dinner or someone fetches food from one of Pererenan's cluster of good restaurants ten minutes by scooter. The distinction between inside and outside softens further, and the evening arranges itself with very little effort on your part.

Rooted in Pererenan

Pererenan Beach

Pererenan Beach

8 minutes by scooter

A black-sand stretch with consistent left and right breaks. Quieter than the beaches to the south, with a small cluster of warungs serving cold drinks and nasi campur after the water.

Canggu Village Market

Canggu Village Market

12 minutes by scooter

An early-morning market where local vendors sell tropical fruit, tempeh, and freshly cut flowers. Best visited before 8am when the produce is at its fullest and the prices are fair.

Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot Temple

20 minutes by car

One of Bali's most recognised sea temples, built on a rock formation that becomes an island at high tide. Worth visiting at dusk when the light turns the whole scene amber.

Nook Pererenan

Nook Pererenan

6 minutes by scooter

A low-key neighbourhood cafe with good filter coffee, acai bowls, and a shaded terrace. A reliable morning option that draws a regular local crowd without the queues of better-known spots.
