Master Bedroom Suite
The largest of the five bedrooms, finished with a private ensuite bathroom, hot water, and bathtub. Room-darkening shades block the tropical morning light for a proper sleep-in.

A private villa in Pererenan, Indonesia, where a full-length pool, open garden, and ten-guest capacity come together without the resort price tag.
The R Villa Luwa sits on Jl. Jantuk Angsa in the village of Pererenan, one of the quieter residential pockets on Bali's south-western coast.
A Villa Built for Living, Not Just Sleeping
The R Villa Luwa sits on Jl. Jantuk Angsa in the village of Pererenan, one of the quieter residential pockets on Bali's south-western coast. The surrounding lanes are lined with family compounds, rice-field margins, and the occasional warung, a setting that keeps the energy unhurried even as Canggu's cafes and surf breaks remain only minutes away by scooter or car. The villa itself is a single-level property, which means every space is accessible without stairs and the flow from indoor living areas to the poolside deck feels immediate and uninterrupted.

The architecture follows a clean, open-plan logic common to well-designed contemporary Bali villas: wide eaves, a garden that wraps around the pool, and rooms that open directly onto covered outdoor corridors. The pool is the gravitational centre of the property. A timber deck and barbecue area sit alongside it, and the mature garden provides both shade and a degree of privacy from neighbouring plots. Indoors, the living and dining spaces are finished with practical materials that hold up well in tropical conditions, furnished with a dining table large enough for the full group of ten.
The kitchen is properly equipped for a stay of any length, stocked with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, stove, coffee maker, water kettle, and a full set of crockery, cutlery, and pots and pans. There is also a sound system for evenings around the pool, a washer for longer trips, and room-darkening shades in each bedroom for those mornings when the light comes in early. Air conditioning runs throughout, and the WiFi is reliable enough for remote work.
Check-in is available from 15:00, and check-out is by 10:00. The villa accommodates up to ten registered guests. Pets are not permitted on the property. Free parking is available both on the premises and on the street directly outside, making it straightforward to base a group trip here with a rental car or multiple scooters.
Five bedrooms, a full-length pool, open garden, and a kitchen built for groups. Every corner of The R Villa Luwa is made for use, not just photographs.
The largest of the five bedrooms, finished with a private ensuite bathroom, hot water, and bathtub. Room-darkening shades block the tropical morning light for a proper sleep-in.
Four additional bedrooms distributed across the single-level floor plan, each with air conditioning, closet or drawer storage, hangers, and linens and towels provided. Natural light and garden outlooks vary by room.
A central living and dining area with a full dining table for ten, a television, and a sound system. The layout opens toward the pool deck, keeping indoor and outdoor spaces visually connected.
A properly equipped kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, water kettle, coffee maker, and complete sets of crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans. Ready for a full group breakfast or a long dinner prep.
The full-length private pool is framed by a timber deck, barbecue station, and a mature tropical garden. The deck runs alongside the water with enough space for the whole group to spread out.
A private entrance with free on-premise parking opens onto a landscaped garden that wraps the villa. The waterfront and beachfront setting gives the garden a particular quality of light and breeze in the evenings.
You arrive in the late afternoon, the gate opens onto a covered entrance and the pool is already visible from the front path. The air conditioning has been running, the beds are made with fresh linens, and the kitchen is stocked with whatever you brought from the market on the way in. The first hour goes to unpacking, a cold drink, and deciding which room each couple or family takes.
Morning at the villa belongs to whoever wakes up first. The coffee maker is on the counter, the garden is at its quietest before eight, and the pool is cleanest in the early light. Breakfast can happen inside at the dining table or outside on the deck with the barbecue nearby for those who want eggs done properly. The single-level layout means children or guests who need easy movement can circulate without thinking about it.
Mid-morning is typically when the group splits. Some stay poolside with the sound system running low. Others take the short drive or scooter ride into Pererenan village, where independent cafes and surf hire shops line the road toward the beach. The water is reachable within a few minutes, and the beach at this stretch of coast is noticeably less crowded than the main Canggu strip.
Afternoons drift back to the villa. The garden provides enough shade by mid-afternoon to sit outside comfortably. The pool gets its heaviest use in the three hours before sunset, when the light shifts from white to gold and the barbecue becomes a reasonable project. Evenings are long and low-key: the dining table fits everyone, the sound system carries the mood, and the room-darkening shades mean a late night does not have to mean a rough morning.

5 minutes by scooter
A black-sand beach with consistent surf and a fraction of the crowd found further south. Surf hire is available directly on the sand.

10 minutes by car
The main strip of Canggu brings independent cafes, fresh-produce markets, and evening dining options within a short drive from Pererenan.

20 minutes by car
One of Bali's most recognisable sea temples, built on a rock formation offshore. Best visited in the hour before sunset when the light is at its most dramatic.

8 minutes by scooter
A longer stretch of volcanic sand with a row of seafood restaurants set directly above the waterline. A reliable spot for a group dinner at dusk.
Pererenan sits just north of the Canggu strip but operates at a noticeably different pace. Fewer hotel developments, more family compounds, and a beach that rewards the short detour off the main road.
For groups of eight or more, the economics and logistics of a private villa change the entire trip. A shared pool, a single kitchen, and one address to coordinate around make the difference in practice.
From the break at Pererenan Beach to the longer walls at Echo Beach, the stretch of coast here offers consistent surf across a range of ability levels, with hire and instruction available at multiple points.
