The R Villa Patuha sits on Jl. Sempol in Pererenan, one of the quieter residential corridors that runs between the beach road and the inland rice terraces that Bali's Badung regency is known for. At 240 square metres, the villa was designed with open sightlines in mind — interior spaces flow toward the pool deck, and the pool itself is oriented to face the green expanse of working paddy fields that change colour through the seasons. Natural light moves through the property in a way that makes the hours legible without needing to check a phone.
The materials throughout lean toward the restrained — tiled floors that stay cool underfoot in the midday heat, clean-lined furnishings, room-darkening shades that allow for genuine rest, and air conditioning in sleeping spaces for those nights when the tropical air stays warm. The kitchen is fully provisioned with a stove, microwave, blender, coffee maker, toaster, water kettle, fridge, freezer, and a complete set of crockery, cutlery, pots, and pans — practical enough for guests who want to cook most meals in-house. Wine glasses and a dining table round out the setup for evenings that call for something low-key and unhurried.
Pererenan as a neighbourhood occupies an interesting position in Bali's geography. It is close enough to Canggu's cafes, studios, and surf breaks to access them easily, yet the lanes around the villa retain the texture of a working village — morning offerings on the roadside, the sound of roosters before sunrise, neighbours who are used to living at the pace of the island rather than the pace of tourism.
