You arrive through a private entrance off Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan and the transition from street to villa is immediate — the garden absorbs the sound and the temperature drops a degree. The rooms are already cool, the blinds drawn against the afternoon heat. You open your bags, claim a bedroom, and by the time the kettle has boiled the place already feels like yours.
Mornings at Tambora have a particular quality. The kitchen is properly equipped — a stove, blender, coffee maker, toaster, full refrigerator and freezer — so breakfast is a real option rather than an afterthought. You take it outside at the garden table while the pool catches the early light. The neighbourhood is already moving: scooters, birds, the distant sound of a warung opening for the day.
By late morning you are out. Batu Bolong Beach is close enough to walk to, and the lanes of Canggu between here and the shore are worth the detour. Independent coffee shops, local warungs, surf hire, and small galleries fill the streets in every direction. Back at the villa by early afternoon, the pool becomes the main event — private, shaded at one end, quiet enough to read beside.
Evenings belong to the outdoor seating area. The sound system carries music through the garden. Wine glasses are already in the cabinet. The dining table, whether inside or out, holds six comfortably, and with everything needed to cook already on hand, a group dinner is a real possibility. The villa's room-darkening shades earn their keep when the night ends and genuine sleep follows.
